Tales From Thyietnam the Podcast, is official, and officially on, like hand tremors in a Graves’ disease patient that’s right, Thyrellas and Thyfellas. Our first audio podcast will be streamed on August 31st As of right now, our show will be aired at the end of each month.

We will be interviewing renowned, magnificent guests with thyroid disease, as well as activists in their respective health related endeavors. The focus of our podcast is quite simple: “How has your disease informed, shaped, or reshaped your life and, or career, if at all?” We’ll learn a lot, laugh our asses off and get a little bit closer to finding our way back to ourselves.

Each podcast will be pre-recorded. We’ll announce the date of recording in advance on Dear Thyroid, Twitter and Facebook. Why, you ask, we’ll be taking 3 calls from our Dear Thyroid readers with questions for our guests, of course.

Chris Campbell,  will be producing and editing each podcast.  A,  bit about,  Chris,  he,  has played many roles. He has been part of the NB Filmmakers’ Coop for over 20 years and is past President. On a national level Chris has been vice-president and board member of the Independent Film and Video Alliance of Canada… Click to find out more about Chris.

And now, the stellar line-up for the first 4 shows, an inspirational, dazzling, funny, talented group of phenomenal women:

August 31st: Mary Shomon Patient advocate and writer Mary Shomon transformed her own 1995 thyroid diagnosis into a mission to educate and empower other patients who struggle with thyroid, autoimmune, hormone, and weight loss challenges. Click to find out more about Mary.

September 30th: Kairol Rosenthal Cancer didn’t make Kairol brave, outspoken, or grateful. She came that way.   But it did turn her into a writer.   Recently released by Wiley, her book Everything Changes: The Insider’s Guide to Cancer in Your 20s and 30s dispels myths like “You’re so lucky to have thyroid cancer!”, and is being widely read by young adults with cancer and autoimmune diseases. Click to find out more about Kairol.

October 30th: Kristy Kiernan knew she wanted to be a writer at a young age and, with the support of her husband, finally pursued publication in her thirties. Her first novel, Catching Genius, was published in 2007 by Berkley Books and went on to become a word-of-mouth hit with reading groups. Click to find out more about Kristy.

November 30th: Rebecca Reigner is a newspaper columnist, Emmy winning television journalist, speaker, and expert re-toucher of photographs. She and her husband are raising two teenagers. Click to find out more about Rebecca.

Can you believe these dames?! We’re beside ourselves with excitement, bouncing off the walls. And, and, and, if you already know which show you’d like to be a caller on, please email Katie@dearthyroid.com and she will get you scheduled assssapy.

Very special thanks to Leah Jones of Natiiv and Chris Campbell for all of their support and guidance
