LauraLou: Thyroid cancer discovered in July, I hate you. Scar still tender and painful, I hate you. I am so angry but I don’t know if it’s because of being hyper for the first time in years (but not hyper enough for you, thyroid-cancer-still-residing-in-my neck…TSH still not low enough.) I’m feeling so much better and so much worse while feeling compressed and trapped by these two extremes.

Kristen Gast: The scale reads 123 and I feel like I am fucking 150. I can’t even fit into my jeans. You successfully made me have a panic attack in the movie theater for no reason at all. I hate you, and you better get your shit under control!

Joann C Sustachek: Looks like I’m going to be menstruating for the entire month, thanks thyroid!

Janet Stewart: Dear thyroid, Things were pretty messed up before you were removed. Now that you are gone, things are pretty messed up. But, I’m in a fighting mood and I’m gonna win this round.

Amy Elizabeth Parker: I love feeling well! But knowing my body as intimately as I do, I dread going away from home. I long for the comfort of my own home. I know that with thyroid disease, that if I am not well rested I turn into a very cranky woman. So, knowing this, I am going away from home for a night. I love to see my family and friends and I hate that my thyroid takes away some of that expectant joy!

Robyn Davis Hahn: Is it my thyroid or my over stimulated toddler that is making me tired and cranky? I shouldn’t have to ask…

Anita Roberts: yep. Aunt flow showed up three days early. Hope that doesn’t indicate an extended stay. Sigh. Hope she doesn’t mind spending time in this body with the cold and the snot and the sneezing… blech.

Yodat: sick and I don’t like it!

Katie Schwartz: Lost.

    Tough week. Tried to stay in a good mood…for the holidays, for my husband, for my daughters, for my parents, for my grand kids, for my friends…..
    And guess what?? All I ended up was exhausted, angry and not feeling well.

    My resolution? I’m going to beg myself to learn to say ‘no’. I have to learn to make time for me…time to take CARE of me.

    In the meantime, got MORE weight to lose now, I’m retaining so much fluid, I can barely bend my fingers and friends….I’m going to bed now.

    Cyndi, So true that we have to learn to say no! I was supposed to be out of town for two nights and before going I was getting so stressed out and not wanting to go that I decided only on one night. I have to call my fiend in a couple of minutes and telling her I won’t be stopping by tomorrow. Sad, I would’ve loved to seen her but I am so relieved and glad to be home. I use to do a lot more things and now I know before hand if I should tone it down because I start stressing. I do not think my period has helped matters, either. Rest now.

    So glad you got that off your chest. Very proud of you for learning to say NO, not an easy word to say to the people you love the most.

    YOU TAKE CARE OF YOU GUILT FREE and savor every minute of it. The more time you take care of you, the better you’ll feel, we hope.

    Hi Amy;

    Menses and stress = highly unfestive and uncomfortable dame. I am so proud of you for going for the one night and knowing that that was the most you could do. HUGE STEP! MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT.

    PS: I’m glad you’re home, too.
