Dear Thyroid,

I was really FURIOUS when you turned on me and flipped my life upside down. It’s been one hell of a crazy ride with you these last years. There’s also the misfortune of the terror reigned on my friends and family due to my thyroid madness! But, even with all of the pandemonium I must say I am very thankful, Thyroid of mine, for the wonderful people you have brought into my life. I would not have met or had contact with several lovely souls if you hadn’t assaulted me.

I’m a forty-five year old woman post-RAI with autoimmune Grave’s Disease. After three years of madness I am still here and gradually improving everyday with the support of my fellow Thy-mmunity…

I was feeling thankful today. That’s all I really wanted to say.

Julia, I am so glad that you are improving! This community is amazing. I think it makes us feel a little less alone and more understood.
The one thing that I am thankful for w/ my disease is that I have a much more healthy lifestyle. I do wish I would have figured that out before, though.
    Blessings to you!

    Julia,
What a nice letter. Keeping positive despite our disease(s) is difficult, and I applaud all those who achieve it!
