Comment Of The Day: March 29, 2010
Today’s letter, Thyeuology, was written by “Robs” a now thyroid cancer survivor! Her acount of what cancer took from her, and what it feels like to be a survivor is a read you don’t want to miss.
The conversation and outpouring of support was astounding. Thank you to everyone for being, well, you; Magic!

So nicely written!! I’m sorry you have had such a hard road. We thyroid cancer survivors and all survivors stand together. It is a horrible disease but has sure brought some great people into my life!! Getting support from and giving support to others helps all of us. Good luck one and all—we’re in this together!!
Thanks,
Tracy
HD, our resident comic, thyroid cancer survivor and overwhelmingly supportive community member wrote an article called, Myth-Busting: The Good Cancer. We’re Talking About Thyroid Cancer. Relentlessly, candidly and kindly, he debunked every misconception one might have about thyroid cancer being the good cancer. If you missed it, you absolutely must give it a read.
Thank you for writing this informative piece about thyroid cancer. We learned so much from you today.
The community rallied, for support and to share their stories; and so bravely. You are thylicious thyeeps.

I had my surgeon tell me it was cancer and no cancer is good but this is the kind to have if you are going to have one. I understand what he’s saying but it still made me mad. I felt exactly as above, that my concerns and fears were very silly and unfounded. No cancer is good cancer, period!! I have heard about many cases that had nowhere near a good outcome, many side effects, etc. We are lucky to have each other for support as others don’t necessarily understand it completely.
