This Innocent Girl is Ready to Throw Down is a Dear Thyroid Letter written by, Nicole, a patient with Graves’ disease and a goiter. Angrily and humorously, she captivated us with her candor about her experience of her disease and what it has taken from her. Sadly, something too many of us can relate to. Nicole’s indefatigable spirit inspired us and made us want to fight for her, for ourselves, and for EACH OTHER.

Everyone, your outpouring of support was astounding and tremendously appreciated. You took our collective wigs off. We love you dearly. Thank you for making Dear Thyroid as special as you always do.

Dear Nicole,

I loved your letter! Let me say that I have now
adopted your ass-cancer title and will use it
frequently!
I will be starting my first RAI at the dnd of this
month for Follicular ass-cancer!
It came as a total shocker to me after my biopsys
from Feb came back clean. I guess we all can continue
to show that this ass-cancer cannot hide, cannot win
and cannot take control!
Thanks again Nicole for your letter! It was a much needed
punch in the arm for me!
Keep kickin’ cancer ass!
