I’m a College Student.

It has come down to that time of my story. I started writing to you, thyroid about a year ago. Headed into my senior year of high school with hopes and joys that could touch the sky. I was so afraid of what might happen this year that maybe you would quit on us and I would wind up in a not-so-happy-place. But, you did not; you held on until January, where we met the Endo Lady for the first time. She helped us right.

This year has been the most, everything, is the only way to describe, the friends we’ve made, and lost, the tears we cried and laughs we had. We are about to go on another frightful journey. One that we will decide our life by. My life. The place where I will learn more than the test, and learn to be me, and love me for me. I have achieved so much, even with you, hurt thyroid. We have achieved so, so, so much. I can’t help but think of this as bittersweet.

We won’t have the protected walls of high school to hide behind anymore. We will only have ourselves without blue face paint and ribbons. We will be trading those for maroon and a new mascot to cheer for. A new place to make a home out of.

Four years I spent trying to figure what was wrong, only to be solved by a tiny pill. We had our place there as a book on a shelf we fit right; in-between Princess and the Pea and Tim O’Brien’s Things They Carried. For we all know how hard it is to sleep at night with the pressure, but a pea on your trout.

But n Also, we all carry our hopes and dreams where everyone can see them in our necks. Begging for them to be spoken. For those dreams to be screamed at the tops of our lungs. Only to be stopped by the pressure of a pea. I’m — We’re beginning a new; a new journey that will take us to my dream, of becoming a writer. They will teach, and I will learn how to become a great journalist. To take down the stories of others.

I wait for these days to end and my life to start, for that bell to ring and us to part. I am more than a Thypunzel, I can slay my own dragons. I no longer worry about prom dresses, and most importantly, you thytrocious, thyle of crap; we’re going to College!
