Dear Thyroid-less,

I ♥ you today because the joy is returning inside of me since I had to replace you with a stranger a year ago. I switched meds 3 weeks ago, began taking Armour, and I am feeling better than I have since I don’t know when … YAY!!

☮ ♥

Monica

Monica, GREAT LETTER! So happy for you and I hope you keep feeling better for a very very long time! I love my Armour. I have had a tough week…starting to feel better…and your letter has made me hopeful and happy.

    Thanks, Linda

Wow, what great timing of this post.

It was exactly one year ago TODAY that I lost my thyroid!!!

I am grateful to have learned so much from everyone here at DT through your writings.

It is an honor to be a part of this wonderful enclave.

Its nice to read that someone is doing better. I was diagnosed with Graves in May and was then told I have Hashimotos as well. Started Levothyroxine 5 weeks ago and feel worse than I did when I first walked in to my doctors. (Heart racing and pounding, chest pain, horrible muscle cramps and joint pain, jitters, and insomnia) When I called my endocrinologist a couple days ago I was told to stop taking the meds for a week and see if I feel better. I have been miserable for years and have only been dealing with the doctors for a few months now and am already frustrated.

      Jill,
I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in July, I too never had to deal with doctors much until then. The combination of Graves and Hashimotos must be overwhelming for you. There are some good resources here, and help to understand. You can go to the “Activity” area [up under “Members”]. There is a little mingle/community area there, ask questions and someone will help you. Take care,
      Amanda

    dear Amanda,
today is a big day for me. I can pick up Armour ! I have finally found a Dr. who would give it to me to replace my synthroid.
I am so very hopeful. I had radition in 2002 for a goiter from Graves. It has been a rollercoaster of a ride and I don’t like rides I get dizzy and throw up.
So healing for me seems to have taken forever. Plus I am from a small minded city. When my Naval traving family moved here when my dad was hired to be a Personal Director for a BIG company …he agreed. When we got here we learned the saying,” welcome to Rockford, turn your watches back twenty years!” And nothing much has changed.
Anyway I have been very sick and have had a lot of “triggers”. Anyone new to this watch the stress levels. But don’t give up, I am getting better and I might be turning a huge corner…….Lets hope.
I also find it interesting that this Armour is almost like the word LOVE in French….! Good sign, better than the name GRAVES LOL> WOOOOOthat was a big one. You have all incouraged me and I thank you collectively and individually……you are a rare find for a lonely person. Bless you, if you sneezed….Linny
    {I had to get that in there, heheheh}

YAY, Monica! So glad you are feeling better and Armour is working for you. It took a bit of tweaking the dose but it has been a real lifesaver for me!

  8. Hypogirl says:

  9. HDinOregon says:

I meant Monica, sorry I am so wound up today…I am just all over the place…..and we had storms here…boy I am wacko! I am so embrassed, forgive my mistake…Linny

    • Monica says:

Linny, no need to apologize or feel embarrassed. Sometimes the mind thinks it’s doing one thing but then different parts of the body decide to react on its own, like fingers typing on keyboards.

I hope the Armour works for you like it did for me. We have to keep plugging away until we find the right fit.

      ☮ ♥
