Dear Thyroid,

I love you today because… you are feeling better which means I am feeling better. I love that you worked hard without acknowledgment for all those years. I love you today because you are again chugging away to make my whole body well. I love you today because you brought me to this great place called Dear Thyroid. And I love you because you brought me to what I believe is the best general practitioner that I could have found. She told me today, “I am kind of a big deal around here” than she laughed “Just kidding, but I am very aware of thyroid and I find nodules no-one else notices”.

You done all right thyroid. We are on a good path.

Mmmmwwwwah. Love ya.

Amanda

I am happy for you Amanda. I know how much it matters when we are having better days. I hope you continue on this path and beat this “thing” of ours.
I have been taking Amour, I mean Armour, for this week and I am convinced it’s going to make a difference.
It’s been a rough week already and I feel like I’m more in control than I have been in a long time. Both my father 89, and my son almost 30, had EKG’s yesterday…unexpectedly, fortunally they are both alright. Long story but I think we have things under control. It’s critical that I manage these stresses or I will spin again into issues. So far I feel “cool”.
Is this the Armour change? I think so. Otherwise I would have had tears running down my face unable to handle my worries and give these loved ones the support that they need. But I did hold together. I know I helped them manage the scare for them.
Thank you for sharing and celebrating with us.XXXXLinny

      Hi Linny,
I think that our attitude about the medications really helps. Hopefully your handling of that terrible stress of yesterday is proof that things are going to work out better for you.

We do need to stop and celebrate the good parts of our days, even if we can’t say we had a good day… there are always good bits to enjoy.

      Thank you!
      Amanda

    Amanda,

Great letter. I have found that its the trying times that teach us most about ourselves, and its those times that we should be thankful for. I’m happy for you.

U R SO RIGHT Amanda, we can do mental things to help ourselves. Thinking of good outcomes is the soil for growing positive effects. If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t, your right!
Toast to us , our positive thoughts. May they spread like wildfire to all the doubters.
Visualize success before it happens. Why NOT TRY? what have ya got to loose?
Come on, join us……the little Engine that could. I think I can I think I can I think I can….whooo hooo!

A positive attitude is important, not always easy to do but it gives us hope.

I’m happy for you all :)x

    • Amanda says:

It is definitely harder to have a positive attitude. Making a list of everything that I am angry about and trying hard to find an equal amount of things to be happy about is a good way. Balance, so much work but sooo worth it.

  5. Amanda, I’m so thrilled you’re on the right path to wellness! I love your attitude–it’s infectious.

    xoxo,
    Joanna

I think it is infectious also. It affects not just me and others who are sick, but everyone I contact. Adopting a positive attitude towards a chronic disease spills over to the rest of your world. I love it. And then there is the person who says “What do you have to be so happy about? You are sick?!”. Yes, I am…. but I am alive. Bam!
