Pitafly, You Can Kiss My Ass
Dear Thyroid,
I didn’t ask for you to decide not to operate correctly. I didn’t receive a how-to manual to look for clues, warning signs, or a light to come on and indicate that I had a system problem.
What I battled with was a silent battle…one that took every ounce I had in me.
My story is more than likely similar to others. I battled a disease unknowingly for 7 yrs. During that 7 yrs this little butterfly shaped PITA snuck pounds on, caused my hair to thin, made me feel like a 90 yr. old trapped in a younger woman’s body, Caused me to lose a baby as well as needing to be an investor in Kimberly Clark, not to mention mood swings, depression, etc.
I didn’t ask you to wreak havoc on my life…To place me on a roller coaster that would never come to a stop. I did NOT ask for this, but I am having to deal with it. One foot slowly in front of the other……
Family and friends didn’t understand, heck for a while doctors didn’t understand. After 3 D&C’s enough was enough….then the joy of being pregnant when you thought you couldn’t…only to have that taken away. How awful of you…how damn inconsiderate of you…. but what do you force me to do? You force me NOT to let a disease, b/c that is what HYPOTHYROIDISM is – a disease…. beat ME! I didn’t quietly deal with you for 7yrs before receiving assistance to just let you walk right in and take what doesn’t belong to YOU! I plan to keep on kicking your ASS until I’m old and gray. You should be shaking in your boots…..little Ms butterfly because I have lots of fight still left in me. Just because you choose not to work at full speed doesn’t mean that I will follow suit!

Life is too short to spotlight what you can’t do! It’s better to use your energy and time for something that’s going to build you up- not tear you down.
My focus is getting back to me- back to the basics. Not the number on the scale, or the one in my clothes, but the number that my life is worth…and lemme tell ya it’s a big one! 🙂
Dear your story is more proof that science needs to find these answers.
!!!! Comeon folks can’t you see and hear that nobody should be going thru these hell years.
What’s it gonna take to make you Specialists stay up a few nights and do some homework.
