Photo Essay Submission by Stephanie Carper
Unconditional Love
This photo makes me smile. When I look at this picture I don’t see the pain that my 19 year old daughter has endured after six years of battling thyroid cancer. I see hope. I see courage. I see pure joy. I see a young man who is serving our country who has loved my daughter since the 7th grade, who wouldn’t miss being by her side for her 4th surgery (surgery #5 coming in July). The smile on her face gives me hope that someday she will be cured.

This photo is making me cry because it is so sweet and beautiful! I wish your daughter all the luck for sucess on her next surgical procedure.
Thyroid disease is a muther, but whereas I am struggling with Grave’s Disease, this young lady is trying to beat cancer. Love this photo, it wrenched a tear out of this creaky black heart.
what a gorgeous young lady! this was a wonderful submission and caught my fancy. best of luck to her. that smile alone is a miracle.
How sweet! We will keep her in our prayers, hopefully she can overcome this ordeal soon and move on to better things. Who needs to worry about her thyroid at that age! BEST WISHES!

Wonderful! winner
This young lady and her mother’s friendship are the only good things that came out of her Thyroid cancer to me!
She is a fighter, a winner and a hero of mine. I’m praying this will be her last surgery and her next scans will be clean!
But, her cancer doesn’t stop her from living for the here and now. She goes for everything life has to give her! (He’s right next to her in this picture.) She’s going to be just fine. This LOVE AFFAIR has a HAPPY EVER AFTER ending! Lots of love.
