Butterfly Bag Contest Entry One, by Missy
Dear thyroid,
Most people say “I’m so glad you are gone.” Me…not so much. Granted you had cancer and had to go, that I understand.
What I don’t understand is the fact that you were working perfect! I didn’t know what it felt like to by hypo, or hyper. Now, I know pure exhaustion, depression, inability to sleep, ability to sleep too much, hair loss, hormonal changes, mood swings, what it’s like to be a Dr. guineau pig, and everything in between.
I’ve lost friends, but have also gained new ones who understand what I’m going through. I’ve learned to never tell anyone, “I understand what you are going through.” Oh, the hell you do, unless you’ve walked a day in my shoes, or theirs!
I don’t know how I would get through if it wasn’t for my husband who is incredibly supportive. Does he always understand? I don’t think so, but it’s ok, he’s still by my side. Thyroid, I miss you, but I don’t miss the cancer!

Voting for you Missy good luck. I too regret losing my thyroid.
Thank you Lolly! Good luck with all your “non” thyroid journeys.
