Graves Eye Disease: Thyroid Awareness Month Photo Essay
When I was diagnosed with Graves Disease and Hyperthyroidism one thing I noticed was that I wasn’t taking many photos, not only was I not taking many, I didn’t care if I ever did. That bothered me! So when I started feeling a little bit better,I decided to shoot a series of photos about Thyroid/Graves Disease awareness.
I am tying to bring a little beauty the these ugly diseases that have tried to steal it from us. These few photos are the start of what has become a “lifetime” project. I hope you like them.
I was born and raised in Anchorage,Alaska ,where I lived until 2 months ago.I moved to Grand Junction,Colorado with hopes that a “change in latitude would change
change the attitude” and help with the healing.I studied art at Mississippi College and earned my degree in commercial photography from The Art Institute of Seattle.
Photography has been my passion since December 24,1982.Thank you dearthyroid for letting me share my passion with you

These photos are gorgeous! I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with Grave’s; a nasty monster I have struggled with since 2002. Please continue with your photography for not only is it beautiful but will continually give you strength through the days ahead.
How wonderful that you shared these beautiful photos with all of us, who like yourself understand the day to day pain and frustration of this disease. Thank you!

Love your work!
Thanks for sharing! Where can I purchase T-Shirt and Bracelet?
Thanks
Mrs. Creole,
The t-shirts were purchased from either zazzle.com or cafepress.com.The bracelets are breast cancer awareness colored blue.

Awesome photos I love all of them. I was wondering where the person in your photo got their bracelets from. I am really in love with the thicker awareness band and would love to purchase one.
Christina,
Sadly both bands are breast cancer awareness bands,I took the liberty to change the color for thyroid awareness. If I find any I will let everyone know.
