Twenty-Second Entry: Thyroid Literary Contest – Three Words of Encouragement
The beautiful painting inspired me to submit four words. I love that the painting has the word ‘live’ painted down the side. After all, isn’t that the ultimate encouraging word?
Here are the four words I selected:
Determination
I am determined to keep educating myself to understand this condition so I can the live the life I want and not succumb to the life I’m told I should settle for.
Love
Friends and family love me for who I am and care for me regardless of how much weight I gain or energy I lose; I am always beautiful & vivacious to them! This in turn helps me love myself so I can be a better person.
Smile
Always. It makes me feel better!
Accept
This is the most difficult word, but critical in succeeding at the other three. Part of acceptance is knowing that others are suffering from much greater illnesses, and my thyroid condition is merely an annoyance in comparison.
