Twenty-Sixth Entry: Thyroid Literary Contest – Three Words of Encouragement
When thinking of four words that are meaningful for dealing with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, I think of words that empower me to be well by taking proactive measures for my health. How to achieve empowerment is up to each individual, but to truly be empowered and overcome thyroid issues I must Absorb all the knowledge available to me by constantly researching my health and changes in treatment. I must Advocate for my own health by questioning and respectfully challenging some of my physician’s treatments, even if it means I find a new doctor. I must be Active in all that I do; whether it’s exercise, diet, or research, thyroid patients cannot be passive about any portion of their health. I will Achieve optimum health by using all the resources available to me.
Absorb, Advocate, Active, and Achieve – – four words for reaching my goals of overcoming Hashimoto’s and participating in my life!

I agree. I come from a family where many of the women suffer thyroid issues, and I know it can be an everyday battle. Almost all women struggle with their appearances and weight, and it can be even more difficult when, despite what motivation you have to work out and lose weight, you have a faulty thyroid working against you. I think these 4 words of encouragement can really help a person in this – or any! – situation.
some great words I would choose too, you got a vote from me Cathy.
