Thirty-Third Entry: Thyroid Literary Contest – Three Words of Encouragement
Enclosed is my submission for this amazing painting to remind and inspire me every day there is always beauty around me and I truly hope you like it and use these words to motivate you in your own lives… I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s 7 years ago, although the more I learn about the disease the more I realize I suffered with it many years before my formal diagnosis. Then, 2 years ago, I was also diagnosed with Lupus, a double whammy…Sometimes all I can do is laugh when I am trying to decide which disease is causing some of the bizarre and often debilitating symptoms I experience each and every day of my life. A good day is really a GREAT day!
My four words, my message to myself every day and what I want to share with others is as follows;
Determination: Continue moving forward, when you have a setback, take a step back and get ready for your comeback!
Believe: In yourself – things turn out best for you when you make the best of the way things turn out.
Adapt: Every day is an adventure…sometimes the path is bumpy sometimes smooth, your attitude determines your outlook.
Live: This is your time, use it wisely, enjoy every moment, this disease is not who you are, it’s something you have. I always say “I am like a brilliant diamond, with 52 facets, and with every movement I make, I am always shining”.
Thank you.
