Cherry Red Gloss #17- A gorgeous red gloss. Enough color to pop, but since it’s a gloss, not too crazy for daytime.

It’s been a strange week. A couple things happened which opened my eyes but I have to explain before getting to the point. For awhile now, I have been feeling exhausted, a little down, and a little wacky…on edge.  Of course, if your thyroid hormone balance is controlled solely by medication, this is nothing new. After a couple weeks I called my endocrinologist and asked for blood work to make sure all of my levels were ok. When he called I was surprised to hear him say that everything was normal so whatever it is, it wasn’t the medication. About the same time my right eye started feeling a little funny and I noticed a little bump on my eyelid, no big deal.  The next day, things started tasting funny and I noticed a small sore in my nose, then the dizziness started and the right side of my face started feeling numb. Okay, I thought I was having a stroke.

During this same week I went off to work one morning feeling fairly decent and as I arrived at my first office (I’m a sales rep), I looked in the mirror to apply my lipstick (of course). I swiped some on and got ready to leave my car then thought, ‘wait a minute, something’s not right.’ I pulled the mirror down and alas, I left the house and had NO MAKE UP on!! Now, there was a time when, just a little lipstick would do; but now I am 40+ and without ‘full face’, well, I didn’t want my customers not to recognize me.  Anyhow, I snapped my seat belt back on and drove to the nearest drugstore. For those who don’t know, I am a little bit of a make up snob so it’s been awhile.  Anyhow, I picked up some cheap powder and mascara and made my way back to the car (lipstick was going to double as blush). What surprised me was how absolutely AWESOME the mascara was! I have recommended it to all my friends and I cannot stop raving. I have tried a million different brands and this by far was the best.

OK, here are the lessons. I wasn’t tired and dizzy from my thyroid, turns out I had shingles along one of my facial nerve which is actually quite serious.  Had I waited any longer to seek medical help, I could have had permanent damage to my vision and hearing or worst. So, my point is, thyroid issues are a bear, and for me, anytime I felt ‘off’ I would blame the medication imbalance. Well, we know our bodies better than anyone, get checked out, it’s not always the thyroid. Next, the mascara was a nice surprise. Try new things, look where you’ve never looked, you never know. Thank goodness for small surprises. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that bring you joy!

I chose Cherry Red Gloss #17 because it is the best red gloss I’ve ever owned. It has a luxurious feel and is perfect for the holidays. It’s not too orange and since it’s a gloss, it’s not too ‘BAM’ if you know what I’m talking about. Whenever I put it on I feel like I can conquer the world. A little confidence never hurts!
