Each patient and family member willing to share their story and speak up and out about their disease, and how it affects them, is a day to celebrate. As a friend once told me, “When we are silent, our diseases win”; he’s right. Fight back with everything you’ve got. Join us. Be yourself: outspoken, irreverent, funny, angry, sad, happy, and every emotion in between. Ask questions, share your story, offer links, and connect with other patients and family members.
We won’t cure our diseases. However, we’ll learn from each other, find strength in camaraderie and hopefully a sense of healing along the way.
