Uplifting – went to a family Christmas Tree farm operated by a husband and wife team who’d been married for 60 years! I’m interviewing the wife for a story and ask if her husband would do the interview w/us. She says sure – and gets out a walkie talkie and says. “Farmer’s wife to Farmer – the newslady is in the barns.”
I loved this.

My papa, who is 82, came up from Arizona. I live in WA. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family! The best part was my Uncle John came up with Papa and surprised everyone! Only my older brother who picked them up at the airport knew. My daughter played with all her cousins…it was fun. And now we are home and get to sleep in our own beds tonight. Yes!

Oh, Liz, how I love thee. Anything immune system related warms the cockles of my heart. Over 70% of our lymphoid tissue is in our intestines–GALT (gut-associated lymphoid tissue). When you consider how we totally disrespect our GI (Americans, not theeps, we’re more enlightened), it’s no surprise we are the least healthy industrialized nation. I’ve been taking Nature’s Way brand probiotics (in the refrigerated section) for a bit over a year now. Somewhere I read that Bifida bacteria is better than Acidophilus for reducing intestinal gas buildup, but my current supplement is a mixture.

Now, I didn’t have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving–very trying times. But, now 3+ weeks GF, and it’s the first time EVER that I did not have any abdominal pain while traveling/vacationing. It is definitely a cause worth celebrating.

Today, this morning in particular, I was having a terrible horrible no good very bad day. I was anxiety ridden all night, and this morning was no better. I kept self talking, telling myself that I could make the choice to feel better, feel happy.. it was not working. I was making myself crazy. I had to go to work and smile at everyone there, trying to make their day better. Two persons, one a staff member, the other a volunteer came in to work. I hadn’t seen either one for several days. Each of them gave me the most incredible hug and told me that they were happy to see me. These two persons love me unconditionally and I immediately felt that. My spirit was at once totally uplifted and my sadness, anger and anxiety left and I felt a light come on in my soul. I’m home now. Alone with my thoughts..and I am still feeling good. How healing the hugs are.
