I would like to thank you all so very much for making me feel so welcome and appreciated as a columnist for Dear Thyroid™. I have loved getting to know you and have made so many wonderful friends. I hope that I have been able to help you with my writings and research.

For personal reasons, I will no longer be writing for Dear Thyroid™.

I wish you all the very, very best in health and happiness.

All my love,

Sarah

–NOTE FROM KATIE–

Sarah has been an incredible fixture in the Dear Thyroid community. Her compassion, kindness, willingness to work with us and connect with every community member has been outstanding and is tremendously appreciated. Her presence and sage, uplifting words will be missed dearly. I am grateful to Sarah for the opportunity to have worked with her, and for all that she did for the Dear Thyroid community.

This is an awesome time in Sarah’s life. I wish her the very best of continued success in her every endeavor. I have every confidence that Sarah will continue doing amazing, inspiring things, as that is the essence of who she is — simply remarkable.

Thank you, Sarah Downing!

–FINAL THOUGHTS–

This is one of the most exciting times in Dear Thyroid’s life. We are on the precipice of even more change. Collectively, our words and drive for awareness are paying off in dividends. Our voices are being heard. Each community member and columnist is the impetus for all of this. A MILLION THANK YOU’S. Keep writing and submitting Dear Thyroid Letters, keep connecting in comments, participate in all of the new and exciting contests we have going. Join the Dear Thyroid meet-ups for support. Get a FREE Awareness band. Buy a Dear Thyroid T-shirt. WEAR YOUR DISEASE ON YOUR SLEEVE. In short, your words MATTER. Your words are a testament to the realities of our diseases and cancers. Your words are changing the way people perceive thyroid disease and thyroid cancer.

Now is the time to keep fighting and to remind ourselves why we are here; a greater good that we wish to achieve: voice, awareness, support and a cure. Collectively, we can do anything, especially as a united front. Individually, we can’t. We need each other. As a thyamily, we will achieve our goals, I just know it! I am honored to be a part of this community and thankful for each and every one of you.

Sarah – I know you have to do what’s best for you and I know we will always stay in touch and remain friends, but at this moment, I am upset about this news. I don’t know what else to say at this time except that I hope your columns will remain on DT for others to benefit from your research and knowledge. And of course, your passion, which is so evident in your writings. You have never failed to inspire. I love the idea of you starting a blog and I encourage you to follow through on that!
