You don’t bring me flowers
On account of my allergies
You hardly talk to me anymore
cus I don’t make any sense
And you say I’m too tense.
I remember when
You couldn’t wait to love me
Used to hate you seeing me
Now we don’t make love anymore
My Libido gone out the door
I know I’m not good to you
And you’re feeling uptight
Maybe if you turn out the light
And you don’t bring me flowers anymore
It used to be so normal
To talk about forever
But “used to be’s” don’t count anymore
I just can’t get off the floor
Just sweep me away
And baby, I remember
All the things we used to do
Now all I do is weep
Or fall fast asleep
Well you’d think I could learn
How to except your goodbye
And you don’t bring me flowers anymore
Well you’d think I could learn
How to except your ‘goodbye’
You don’t say you need me
You don’t say you’ll stay with me
You don’t bring me flowers anymore

You don’t bring me flowers

On account of my allergies

You hardly talk to me anymore

cus I don’t make any sense

And you say I’m too tense.

I remember when

You couldn’t wait to love me

Used to hate you seeing me

Now we don’t make love anymore

My Libido gone out the door

I know I’m not good to you

And you’re feeling uptight

Maybe if you turn out the light

And you don’t bring me flowers anymore

It used to be so normal

To talk about forever

But “used to be’s” don’t count anymore

I just can’t get off the floor

Just sweep me away

And baby, I remember

All the things we used to do

Now all I do is weep

Or fall fast asleep

Well you’d think I could learn

How to except your goodbye

And you don’t bring me flowers anymore

Well you’d think I could learn

How to except your ‘goodbye’

You don’t say you need me

You don’t say you’ll stay with me

You don’t bring me flowers anymore

By Lolly

(Bio),  I want to dedicate this one to Katie Schwartz and to all you thyrellas out there who’s thyroid disease has changed them, making you self conscious of how you look, how you feel ;let me tell you this, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it’s what goes on inside that counts, not how you look on the outside. To me you are all pin-ups. And I believe in those vows in marriage “For better, for worse in sickness and in health” so if you’re partner/hubby doesn’t like how you look tough shit because one day he’s gonna get a pot belly probably a bald head. If he loves you he’ll bring you flowers he’ll be patient and understanding and support you while you go through difficult times.

  2. Shan says:

Thanks, Lolly, poignant with a twist, illness testing the boundaries of love, and Neil Down cus I can’t get up!

  3. Lolly says:

Thank you thycrew a rather serious one from me but that is the only way for this song it’s that kind of touching song.

It happens in Life, Illness has a wy of splitting people up and tesing the bounderies but if a relationship is strong you will weather the storm.

Katie tanks for correcting it for me and adding the biop for me that was improtant part of this song.

sorry i havn;t been around much I haven;t been well but am getting over it now.

I will continue to write thy-tunes and have a couple in the bag planned.

    Love
    Lolly
