Comments of the Day:

We started of the day with an AWESOME haiku (excuse me, thyku). Mike so brilliantly describes thyroid disease in his poem “Cold When it’s Hot and Hot When it’s Cold… Sound Familiar?!” Please be sure to read it and leave Mike some love in comments!

oooh sunshine, I know how you feel. I caught a usual chill the other night, so bad, I had to take a hot shower, then it was dreading walking to the bed, only to have the sheets send me off to freeze land again. I cant stand it!!! My sweetie lays next to me, sweating~me shaking. Its crazy. But my so called endocrinologist says your levels are fine. Im looking for another endo as we speak. Im tired of being tired, sick of being cold one second, melting the next. Its insane.

Did you catch Dr. Sara Gottfried’s post, “Metabolism Reset with HCG?” As always, Dr. G shares her wonderful knowledge with us about the complicated endocrine system. Today she talked about weight loss. Have you tried everything but can’t seem to shake the weight? Maybe you need to reset your metabolism. How? Why? Read Dr. Gottfried’s article to find out!

I am on HCG and have lost over 60 pounds since June 1. I haven’t had hormonal issues (that I’m aware of anyways) in the past, but I had reached a point where I could do everything right – eating whole, healthy foods in healthy amounts, exercise regularly, etc. – and I could not lose weight. Resetting the hypothalamus, for me, has allowed my body to finally let go of the excess weight, and it’s been a miracle for me. I hope it is for others who try it, too.

We published three AMAZING acrostic poems today written by Jennifer, Judanna, and Keira. Please read these and leave each of these ladies some support in comments! And please consider writing and submitting a poem. This week’s word for acrostic poetry is ABSOLUTELY. Send your submissions to Katie.

Did you know that you could win a $25 iTunes gift card simply by writing a Dear Thyroid letter?! Check out this post for more details and START WRITING!  Send your letters to submissions@dearthyroid.org
