I’m back for my latest installment of Tea(-4) Time with Tracy!

To keep you all up to date, I had an appointment with my endocrinologist last Tuesday, only to find out my TSH has gone up from 4.9 to 6.8. As you all know from my previous posts, I am on a naturally compounded T-4 medication because my body wouldn’t tolerate Synthroid well – at 75mcg OR at 25mcg. I started off on 12.5mcg of the T-4 meds, which was working as it should-up until about a week ago, which seems to make sense based off my blood work. I began to feel my original symptoms- headaches, knee pain and lack of energy, only more abbreviated. The good news is that my thyroid is significantly less inflammed, which I was previously concerned about.

NOW, I was put on 25mcg of the T-4 meds, which I began taking a few days ago. I’m guessing my endo put me on 12.5 to begin with, knowing the dosage would increase evetually, to slowly allow my body to get used to the thyroid hormone. Initally, with the synthroid over the summer, my body was recieving WAY too much thyroid hormone all at once. Now I’m glad I’ve finally found a good balance!

Besides my thyroid issues, I had a very sad week. I lost my Grandpa “Poppy” at the age of 88 on October 17th. I will forever miss when Poppy came through my door saying “Tracy baby!” He was an amazingly generous and thoughful person, and he will be forever missed. R.I.P. Poppy <3

Sending much love and support your way,

Tracy <3
