Dear Thyroid, My Official Break-Up Letter

Dear Thyroid,

Was it something I said?  Something I did? Did we just grow apart?

If you only knew how you used make me feel.  I’ve been good to you.  I’ve stayed fit and don’t smoke.  I know that things have been changing in the past couple of years.  Was it because I turned 30 this year?

I constantly look back for the signs of when things started to go wrong between us.  I have so many questions.  I understand you have a hard time communicating with me, but give me something!

Everyone asks how I’m doing and I put on a brave face.  I sleep a lot.  I have a hard time going out; I just don’t have the energy.  Is it depression setting in?  Maybe.   I read about you online every day.  No, I’m not stalking you on facebook.  I’m just finally realizing that you are completely different than I thought.

I’ve only told a few people about us, it still makes me sad to talk about.  I know this happens to millions of women, I just never saw it happening to me.  I had to change my life because of you.  I would love to hear your side of the story because I just don’t understand why you would treat me this way.

Love,

Allison

What a great letter! So happy that I have moved on and don’t think about my Thyroid anymore! Love my life now and feel wonderful! Have tons of energy, have lost 19 pound and have gone from a size 14 to a size 6 in 10 weeks.

I LOVE this letter! Thank you and I’m sorry you had to suffer the ‘break up’ like so many of us. Have hope that there is much support out there…keep speaking your mind!

    Dear Allison

This is your Thyroid. I hate that we have grown apart like this as well. I too miss our very productive relationship. I think we can find that again, maybe if you love and love and love me, and tell me every day a thousand times you love me, maybe then the evil things that hurt me, thats running through your blood, wont know how to cope with all this LOVE, since they are evil. Maybe they will just die and stop hurting me and then we can productively love each other again…
