What’s Next, Dear Thyroid?
Dear Thyroid
I was born in the north west of Tasmania (Australia) which has low iodine levels in the soil, and come
from a family (on both sides) with thyroid history. I guess I was predestined to get Hashimotos Disease.
I was told by the first endocrinologist I saw that if you have to have a disease, this is the one to have as it can be easily managed by medication every day for the rest of your life.
He was right, I have been one of the lucky ones to have had no issues at all since my medication level was settled at 200micros of Thyroxine daily. It has been over 30 years now, and with six monthly blood tests for monitoring, all has been fine.
So, the question that I have of you dear Thyroid is this – “ now that I am approaching the age for the change of life, what are we in for or will my dose stay as it is?”
Here’s to the next stage of the Hashimoto’s journey
