Feeling Hot In Your Absence written by Monica Stevens, was an inspirational Dear Thyroid letter about her thyroidectomy. From the infancy stages of her diagnosis, to post-op, Monica went there and reminded us that regardless of disease, we can find our way back to ourselves.

Thank you to everyone for sharing as much of yourselves as you did and for lending so much support to Monica.

Monica,

What a beautiful letter. Brought tears to my eyes. Your gratitude and peaceful feelings towards your thyroid are admirable.

I also appreciate your “living in the moment” kind of attitude. It is all we have and since we can never ‘re-live’ one moment, it makes sense to enjoy where we are;.NOW.

Thank you for the reminder;.and please know that you are an inspiration.

Today’s second installation of: Myth-Busting: The Good Cancer. We’re Talking About Thyroid Cancer Part Two, following the first installation about how marginalized thyroid cancer patients feel when told “You have the good cancer” among other things; offered another perspective about thyroid cancer. If you missed it, please give it a read.

HD, thank you for guest blogging on Dear Thyroid; we loved having you.

Thank you to everyone for your comments and providing us with a glimpse regarding your perspective about thyroid cancer.

Fantastic part 2. It is important that in our race to erase the slamming kinda of “your so lucky to have the good kinda cancer comments” we don’t forget the parts of this disease that behave differently to other kinds of cancer and are sometimes in our benefit. This is an awesome two parter!

Best,
Kairol
