Family Literary Campaign
On Facebook yesterday, one of the questions we asked was “How has your disease affected your relationship with your family?” So far, we’ve received close to 100 responses from patients and families. You have no idea how proud of everyone we are. The patient experience and the family experience might not be worlds apart. Perhaps it is. Regardless, as a collective, we’re bridging the gap. All of you are working so hard to ensure that your family understands how you think and how you feel. Additionally, I think you do everything you can to be there for your families and see your disease through their eyes. Painful as it is, I believe we’re all trying to find our way through this process.
We want to start a literary campaign.
PATIENTS: We’re asking you to write letters to your family members and friends (anonymously/no last names) and address what your disease has done to your relationships.
FAMILIES: We’re asking you to write letters to your loved one’s thyroid (anonymously/no last name) and address what your loved one’s thyroid cancer and/or disease has done to your relationships.
