DEAR THYROID^TM

We have a feeling you’re all going to like January’s Flickr Photo Pool theme.   Or, at least, we hope you do!

I’ll get right down to it: most of us have experienced some sort of physical changes due to our disease(s).   Maybe your hair changed, maybe you gained or lost weight, maybe your skin lightened or yellowed.   Thyroid disease (or cancer) has a way of changing our appearance and for most of us, this is difficult to accept.   We like the way we used to be.   This month, we want to celebrate those “we’s” that we used to be.   This isn’t to make us sad in remembrance, but to show off and be proud of the people we were.   Those pre-disease times in our lives deserve to be recognized too.   They were different times and we were probably different people before the diagnosis, but it’ll be a fun experiment to share our former selves with each other.

So, officialy, this month’s Flickr Photo Pool theme is “Before the disease“.

As always we are dying to know what you’ll send in! Start emailing your pics to DearThyroid@gmail.com — as many photos as you like.   Also be sure to include your name (or the name you would prefer us to list them under) as well as a brief description of each and/or what it signifies for you.
