New Word for Acrostic Poetry: IMPERVIOUS
We chose the word, impervious because of it’s definition, “Not allowing something to pass through; not penetrable.” With thyroid cancer and thyroid diseases, we are penetrated to the point of being overtaken by illness. In addition, with so many tests and issues we face with friends and perhaps loved ones, some of us feel as if we want to create an impenetrable shield.
We would love your interpretation, be it literal or not, in acrostic poetry of the word IMPERVIOUS. Please send your literary works to submissions@dearthyroid.org. Let your veins do the walking, meaning go as deep and as dark as you need to. When we ‘tap a vein’, we bleed through our fingertips, and onto the page. We express ourselves honestly.
We look forward to your most excellent works.

I emailed my poem but not sure that you received it as I am having issues with the email address I used. So here it is:
Impossible to put into words
My feelings at this disease
Peeling away all my layers
Eroding my life as it was
Razing my memories to the ground
Vagueness is my norm
Inability to do all the things I want
Overall I am
Unable and
So fucking down
