Eighteenth Entry: Thyroid Literary Contest – Three Words of Encouragement
My name is Laurie Ungar and I am a thyroid cancer survivor.
Encouragement means to me:
- Hope
- Happy
- Life
“For the last two years I have been searching for a doctor that will listen to me and help me. I am more than my numbers and I have been in this tunnel of frustration for far too long. I look in the mirror and don’t even recognize myself anymore. I have gained weight and look so much older than I am from this long journey. I am tired of being tired.”
“These four words are a combination of what I wish my life to be.”
Thank you,
Laurie
