Thirty-Seventh Entry: Thyroid Literary Contest – Three Words of Encouragement
Dealing with thyroid cancer for 11 years now my long time true feelings of dealing with the ups and downs of this disease is
“There is and always will be someone worse off then me”.
Think about it when you are first told you have cancer you mind races, what do you think of “someone dying”. Then you grasp the idea that medicines and other treatments will buy you more time. You start noticing other people with medical problems and you begin to learn from them- you mentor others and you deal with you body functions, others are not as lucky as me realize that yes I have cancer, but I have so much more to give, receive and learn.
