Everyone, thank you for your fabulous show of support and for connecting with Lolly, we appreciate you more than you know. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, every time we write letters to our thyroids and connect via comments; we learn more about our disease and each other. You bring us closer as a community. Now, to announce the winner of the “What is Dear Thyroid” literary contest; every entry was so magnificent. It’s been a while since we ran a contest. Choosing was very difficult. We deliberated and couldn’t choose one. So, we asked a friend of the family, if you will, to make the decision. WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! Keep flexing those literary muscles because we have a lot more literary loveliness coming down the pike.

What is the Dear Thyroid Brand about?
It is a special kind of thyroid outreach, it is a place of honesty and keeping it real, whether that means it is LOUD and in your FACE, ANGRY, PISSED OFF, FED UP! or gently rambunctious and ALWAYS supportive (here is you THYOOP-THYOOP!!) It is here where we are THYFABULOUS!

What makes Dear Thyroid different from other thyroid oriented websites?

It is a community that exists here, ever growing, learning and supporting of one another. There is no “right” or “wrong” attitude or answer here, it is about all of us — collectively!

If you could add, make suggestions or change anything about Dear Thyroid, what would it be and why?
I love and adore this place and count myself lucky for having stumbled my way here.
As a suggestion, as I know there have been moments where I would have loved to get immediate feedback on something, but didn’t want to take away from the discussion happening on the post of the day/in the comments etc;
Maybe a “Open Mic” post that appears once a week” that allows within the comments” a sound off” or a place for questions to the community; “I am feeling this way” anyone else? or “HELP I need laughter” someone crack a funny! “Doc prescribed this med, did you like it? or simply “thylicious sistas and bro” just a shout out to say Hi A once a week melting pot of the community and questions, concerns or comments that each may have and a place to get immediate input.

Ready; Glands a’steady; or not; GO;. I went! I went! and is a unsteady gland day” but I’m hangin!
