Week of October 18th Acrostic Poetry Word: FANTASTIC
Acrostic poetry is our way of reminding Invisible Illness Week, among other sites that thyroid diseases, conditions and thyroid cancers ARE invisible. Every time we write and submit a poem sharing our experience of our diseases, irreverently, humorously, or seriously, we let the world know, HEY, HI, GUESS WHAT, WE’RE NOT INVISIBLE. This is what our disease is doing to us! What’s invisible about that?!
This week, the word is: FANTASTIC. Be sarcastic, be serious, be irreverent, be whatever you want to be. Write – write your hearts out and submit to Katie. We will publish every poem we receive.

fantastic!
heeee!
Feeling overwhelmed, dreading what’s next
Angry at life, it just isn’t fair
Not going to give up, “after all…tomorrow is another day”
Then there is the guilt, some have it much worse
Again? Why can’t it just go away
So confused, what should I do, too much information to process in my fuzzy mind
Taking it an hour at a time, which is an improvement, used to be minute by minute
Incredible caring family and friends, many who really do try even though they can’t understand
Cancer schmancer… you’re not going to win!
cas, this poem is awesome! I hope you’ll consider submitting it to Katie so we can publish it on the site: katie@dearthyroid.org
cas95667 I feel your struggle, I think you wrote this very well. I am happy that you have a family support system, they must be amazing people.
Many of us here have not had the family success. I wish you’d write about them, I want to know people like these.
I guess I draw the wrong kind of people to myself.
What values should I look for when starting a new friendship?
I personally have let them go.
I need to learn how to reconize a quality person!
Thank you, Linny
{applaud noise} Love it!
Cas great poem and use of the word Fantastic.
